What if BFDI was a contestant vote?

To this day, BFDI holds up the practice of allowing the viewers to choose who will be eliminated next episode. This may have been influenced by Big Brother, where the audience can vote via telephone.

Inanimate Insanity has practiced this in the past, but they have later introduced contestant-only voting. Let's see how BFDI would go if only the contestants could vote.

Voting Rules

Voting 1 (elimination)

Everything before then goes according to how it was in canon. Pin gets a Win Token, and the Grapes lose.

No one likes Flower, so it's obvious that she will get the most votes. She votes out Tennis Ball because she was chosen onto the team according to his logic. Golf Ball and Snowball, however, vote out each other. Tennis Ball votes out Snowball because he voted out Golf Ball. But everyone else votes out Flower, so she is still the first one eliminated.

Vote counts will be tracked until the merge begins, so that I know how many points to subtract. Here are they right now:

Voting 2 (elimination)

The challenge goes according to canon, so Needle gets a Win Token, and the Cherries lose.

The alliance votes out Spongy. Pin thinks Woody is a hindrance, so she votes for him. Woody votes for Blocky instead. Blocky and the bros vote for Woody. Firey was more difficult to decide for, but let's say he also votes out Woody. Spongy decides to vote for Woody as well. As a result, Woody is eliminated with 6 votes.

Challenge 3

This is the first challenge where things diverge. For one, Pin doesn't kick Woody because...he isn't there. Instead, Eraser and Tennis Ball are more than likely to submit.

Eraser would most likely cheat with the bros, and Tennis Ball could get a high score. Golf Ball still gets a Win Token, though.

Voting 3 (elimination)

Pin is frustrated at the bros for having cheated on the test, and learns that Blocky is the one to have orchestrated the operation. She doesn't use a Win Token because she feels too proud to use one.

Pin votes for Blocky. The bros retaliate by voting for Pin. The alliance still votes out Spongy. Pin and Spongy are tied for 3 votes, and Blocky has 1 vote against him. Announcer tells Firey and Spongy to decide if Pin or Spongy should be eliminated because otherwise there's a high chance for a tie. Spongy obviously won't vote himself out, so he votes for Pin. Firey follows, so Pin is eliminated.

Challenge 4

Pin and Woody are not here, so Blocky and Spongy take their place. Spongy could bake by himself, while Blocky could just get a cake from Leafy, like the bros. The scoreboard gets skewed a little because of alphabetical priority, but the contestants who didn't get a cake from Leafy have the same score as canon. I imagine Spongy does well; after all, his taco got a high score in Episode 15 in canon.

Instead of the absent Pin, Rocky gets the Win Token. The Cherries still win by their total score. But we can't forget about the chocolate balls. Pin was one of the eaters in canon, but she is replaced here. No matter who replaces Pin, I believe that the Grapes still win. So, there is a tie. Snowball breaks it and wins for his team.

Voting 4 (elimination)

While the team has seen Spongy's good baking skills, the alliance still votes him out because they just don't like him. Spongy votes out Match because she is the loudest about how "ugly" he is. The bros see Bubble as weak, so they vote her out. Firey votes out Spongy, so he is eliminated.

Challenge 5

It's to cross the bridge, but because of Snowball and Golf Ball, no one can cross and we have another tiebreaker. Snowball breaks the tie again, so his team wins again.

Voting 5 (elimination)

The team has mostly turned into two rivalries: the alliance vs. the bros, plus Firey as the spectator. The bros vote for Bubble, while the alliance votes for Blocky. Firey decides to vote for Blocky, seeing how he made his team lose in Episode 3. Plus, he is friends with Match and doesn't want to weaken the alliance. So, Blocky is eliminated.

Voting 6 (elimination)

The challenge goes like in canon, down to the teams themselves. Ice Cube, Coiny, and Needle lose. Firey, Eraser, and Pen get Win Tokens.

Ice Cube doesn't like Coiny after he has been angry with her, so she votes him out. Coiny votes her out in retaliation. Needle likes Coiny, so she votes for Ice Cube. Needle didn't use her Win Token.

Challenge 8

Despite the fact Ice Cube is eliminated, the voting in Episode 7 goes as normal and Firey is drafted onto the Grapes. But challenge 8 is where it changes for the relay race. I decided Firey will carry the Needle that stayed.

Needle doesn't melt, unlike Ice Cube, since she has been shown to be immune to lava death in BFB 15. Needle also has arms and is faster than Ice Cube, so she is able to run with Leafy faster. All this means Squashy Grapes still win, and they get a contestant from the TLC...that they themselves choose.

Voting 7 (rejoin)

Leafy is stuck deciding between Pin and Ice Cube, since she still likes them both. She ultimately goes for Ice Cube. Rocky chooses Spongy. Meanwhile, the rest of the team has already chosen Blocky because they think he's funny. Therefore, Blocky rejoins with 7 votes and gets a Win Token.

New teams

Leafy and Rocky still choose the teams. Seeing that Ice Cube is absent, she chooses Teardrop first. Rocky takes in Tennis Ball. Leafy then gets Needle, and Tennis Ball chooses Golf Ball. Needle tells Leafy to take Coiny in. Tennis Ball deduces that Firey is a smart choice, since it will keep him out of Coiny's team. Finally, Needle and Coiny want Snowball on Leafy's team. Blocky therefore joins Rocky's team, now called Another Name. The other team is still called Squashy Grapes.

Voting 8 (elimination)

I believe the contest goes the same as in canon because Snowball still ties up the Grapes. The Cherries still win the challenge.

Snowball decides to vote for Teardrop because, according to him, she must be stupid for being silent. Needle and Teardrop vote out Snowball instead. Coiny votes for Teardrop, and Leafy votes for Needle while calling her "Needy".

The fate of Teardrop and Snowball is decided by the Cherries. The vote ends up the same as in canon, so Teardrop is eliminated.

Voting 9 (elimination)

The crying contest doesn't matter. The Grapes place 2nd in the skiing contest, so the other two teams compete for 1st in the handstanding contest. The Names fall fast, so they're up for elimination. Eraser gets a second Win Token.

Golf Ball doesn't use her Win Token. Everyone sees Rocky as just a deadweight, so they vote him out. Rocky votes out Firey, though. They're now at the mercy of the Cherries. They all choose Firey, so Rocky is eliminated way earlier than in canon.

Challenge 11

Tennis Ball falls off even before the challenge begins, so the Names are at a disadvantage. The Grapes still go for the Cherries. Pen pops Bubble, and then Leafy pops Pen and Match's balloons. Meanwhile, Golf Ball and Blocky hatch a plan. Coiny slaps Firey, making him fall to a nail held by Blocky. Snowball takes out Pencil because "the balloons are pink." Blocky then takes out Coiny and the basket of nails. Snowball takes out Golf Ball. Blocky takes out Snowball. Leafy takes out Eraser, and Needle takes out Blocky. The Grapes win, and I decided for the Cherries to lose this time.

Voting 10 (elimination)

Since Blocky is not on the team anymore, the alliance votes out Snowball, despite the fact Pencil chose Snowball onto the team in the first place. SB, however, popped Pencil's balloon in the last challenge, and generally doesn't make smart choices. The bros vote for Bubble. Firey votes for Snowball.

Bubble and Snowball are at risk of elimination. The Grapes choose Snowball because he's stronger. Therefore, Bubble is eliminated. As a result, Firey now joins the alliance because he's friends with Match.

Challenge 12

The teams are broken up, and the ladder contest happens. Golf Ball and Tennis Ball have no way to climb as of yet. Golf Ball ranks higher because of alphabetical priority.

The point system is introduced. Each contestant gets 30 points, plus 15 points for each Win Token they had. Then, the points from the challenge are added, and each vote in each elimination in the past subtracts 3 points (instead of 1, as in canon).

Voting 11 (elimination)

Match, Coiny, Snowball, and Tennis Ball are up for elimination.

Pencil and Match vote out Snowball, and so do Golf Ball and Tennis Ball. Firey obviously votes for Coiny. Snowball and Blocky decide to get back for all the times they've been voted by the alliance by voting for Match.

The other ones are less obvious. I'd say Pen and Eraser join forces with the bros and also vote for Match. Leafy, Needle, and Coiny maybe could vote out Tennis Ball because by this point he's starting to be portrayed as clumsy.

The vote is: Snowball (4), Match (4), Tennis Ball (3), Coiny (1). Snowball and Match are tied, and so, Tennis Ball and Coiny are safe, and their voters are told to revote. Leafy, Needle, and Coiny vote for Match because they were never on the same team as Match, and Firey votes for Snowball. Therefore, Match is eliminated. At this point, Needle joins the alliance.

The final vote is: Match (7: ELIMINATED), Snowball (5).

Challenge 13

It's time to find some red balls! As usual, if a maroon ball is found, -10 points. Needle would be the one bringing in the maroon ball in Match's place. Tennis Ball takes longer due to the absence of Rocky.

As for the final votes, there's a bit of a toss-up. Leafy decides she doesn't like Snowball because he made her team lose in Episode 9. Coiny still likes him, though. Coiny would vote for Tennis Ball, and Leafy votes for Snowball.

This means we have a tie. Firey switches his vote to Snowball. So, Snowball is the one to go.

Challenge 14a (rejoin)

Because Spongy is there, he will rejoin the game. He starts with 38 points. Tennis Ball will get the 15-point bonus. He, Golf Ball, and Spongy also have no arms, so they'll get 10 points each.

Spongy would vote for Leafy out of arm envy, and so Leafy votes for Spongy. Coiny and Blocky could vote for Firey. Golf Ball realizes that the bros are really strong, so she would vote for Eraser. Tennis Ball would follow. Pencil compels her alliance to vote for Spongy.

About the last two, I don't know who would they vote, but Pen and Eraser don't hate Firey so they won't follow Blocky's vote. Instead, they'll vote for Spongy. So, Spongy is eliminated right after returning.

Challenge 15

Everyone who played in the barf bag or taco challenge in canon would choose the same. I think Eraser could do the taco contest, so the rest do the barf bag contest.

Barf Bag contest

Pencil sees that the bossy bot herself, Golf Ball, is in, so she would try to bring GB down as fast as possible. She uses a bowling ball, and so Golf Ball only lasts 17 seconds. Blocky gets that ball and rips a hole in the barf bag. Pencil closes the hole with a pillow and uses Coiny to defeat Blocky, who lasts 37 seconds. While she expects Coiny to fall, he doesn't. Pencil tells Needle to knock out Coiny. In the process, Coiny accidentally calls her "Needy". Thus, Coiny only lasts 50 seconds. Then, Needle and Pencil last 60 seconds because the pillow can't hold the hole closed any longer.

Taco contest

While Pen may have not "cheated" before because Blocky was eliminated early, he can still buy a part of Leafy's taco and get few likes. Eraser follows him.

Challenge 16

It's the bowling competition! Tennis Ball can't participate because he doesn't have arms.

Coiny has been shown to miss his shots so many times (e.g. in BFB 9), so his score is 0. Eraser would knock down 2 pins, and Pen would knock down 4. Needle does 6, and the rest does the same as in canon.

Subtracting the scores

Eraser goes first, and uses all of his 60 points on Tennis Ball and Leafy, split equally.

Pencil and Needle are not happy about this move and remove Firey from the alliance. Firey has immunity for knocking down all 10 pins.

Voting 15 (elimination)

Firey votes for Coiny, like he always does. Pen and Eraser vote for Leafy. Tennis Ball votes for Blocky because he thinks that Blocky is the strongest of the bros. Pencil and Needle vote for him as well. Blocky votes for Leafy as well. Thus, Leafy also votes for Blocky. This leaves Coiny, who votes for Pencil (who took Firey in in the first place). This means Blocky is eliminated.

Votes: Blocky (4), Leafy (3), Coiny (1), Pencil (1)

Challenge 17

Pencil and Needle, as well as Pen and Eraser, make obvious pairings. Leafy decides to pair up with Tennis Ball, unfortunately leaving Firey with Coiny.

Pencil and Needle built up the chemistry to take 1st place. Pen and Eraser get 2nd. Leafy and Tennis Ball get 3rd. While Firey and Coiny are still fighting, they somehow decide to actually throw the frisbees and take 4th place just before sunset.

The 125-point bonus is given to Pen, who not only had 0 votes, but also had the lowest score out of those who had 0 votes. The teams also get points:

  3. Leafy and Tennis Ball: 50 points
  4. Coiny and Firey: 15 points

Voting 16 (elimination)

Coiny and Firey vote for each other. Needle turns on Firey. Pencil, however, is over it and decides to vote for Coiny. Meanwhile, Pen and Eraser vote for Leafy again. Tennis Ball votes for Coiny.

This leaves Leafy. She realizes that if she votes for Coiny, there won't be a tie. So, she does and Coiny is eliminated.

Voting 17 (debut)

Each of the debuters only has an audition to express themselves. Ruby still begs to be the one to join, so Pencil and Needle vote for her. (This could be used as a reference for when Ruby joins the alliance in BFDIA 2.) The rest aren't convinced, though. Tennis Ball votes for TV, which could later be referenced in the comment about mechanical minds Golf Ball makes. But I'm convinced the rest could actually vote for Tree because he seems nice to them. So, Tree is the debuter instead of David.

Challenge 18

Tree gets 0 points to start. The scoreboard is downgraded to 2-digit numbers.

The bracket for the staring contest is difficult to determine because only Pencil, Firey, and Leafy remain out of those who were here in canon. The only things that could stay the same are that Firey is facing off against the debuter (which in this case is Tree), and Pencil and Leafy aren't matched up with each other.
